Ingredients

  • 24 glazed donut holes (store-bought for convenience)
  • 10 ounces white candy melts (such as Ghirardelli, Wilton, or similar brands)
  • Various Easter sprinkles (a mix of pastel colors, shapes, and textures works best)

Equipment

  • microwave-safe bowl
  • Spoon or fork
  • Parchment paper or baking sheet
  • Small bowls

Method

  1. First, lay out a sheet of parchment paper or wax paper on a baking sheet or a clean counter. Arrange your store-bought glazed donut holes nearby. Pour your various Easter sprinkles into small, separate bowls, making them easily accessible for dipping. This setup ensures you can work quickly once the candy melts are ready.
  2. Place the white candy melts into a small, microwave-safe bowl. Heat them in the microwave on high for 30 seconds. Remove and stir thoroughly with a spoon. If the melts are not fully smooth, return to the microwave for additional 15-second intervals, stirring well after each, until completely smooth and creamy. Be careful not to overheat, as this can cause the chocolate to seize.
  3. Using a fork or a small skewer, carefully pick up one donut hole. Dip it into the melted white candy, ensuring the top half or entire donut hole is generously coated. Allow any excess candy to drip back into the bowl for a clean finish.
  4. While the candy coating is still wet and sticky, gently transfer the dipped donut hole to one of your bowls of Easter sprinkles. Roll or press the donut hole into the sprinkles, ensuring it’s fully coated on all sides. You can also use your fingers to gently press sprinkles onto any bare spots. The key is to work quickly before the candy sets.
  5. Carefully transfer the fully coated Easter Sprinkle Donut Holes onto the prepared parchment paper. Leave a small space between each one to prevent them from sticking together. Repeat the dipping and coating process with the remaining donut holes until all are beautifully adorned.
  6. Let the donut holes sit undisturbed at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes, or until the candy coating has completely hardened. For quicker setting, you can place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 5-10 minutes.
  7. Once set, gather your vibrant treats. Arrange your finished Easter Sprinkle Donut Holes on a festive platter or in a decorative basket. They are now ready to be served and enjoyed by everyone!
